Dog Boy

Hello kids. You want to know what’s with the ninja outfit? Hey, sneaking into the house to read you your bedtime stories didn’t get any easier when your folks hired that security consultant! Now, if they really want to provide security, there’s a young man I know who’s the world’s best watchman. Tonight’s bedtime story is about another one of those special citizens of Foresthill. His name is Raymond something-or-other, but he’s been called Dog Boy ever since anyone can recall. Dog Boy grew up somewhere in the mountains above Foresthill, in a part of the world where people go to...

Johnson Family Fourth of July

Kids, it’s bedtime and time for a bedtime story. Your parents are starting to get serious about keeping my nighttime visits to a minimum. How’d I get in past the deadbolts and downstairs Dobermans? These suburban houses are so close together that climbing a neighbor’s fence, leaping to the garage roof and then scrambling across rooftops is really pretty easy. How about a story involving the ties that bind and traditional family values? (Hang with me on this. It’s better than it sounds. World’s Best Funeral

Hello kids. Tonight’s bedtime story is a little bit different. I figured that any time a funeral is fall down funny, I need to share. A friend of mine asked me to play my cello at an old ladies funeral. It seems that the old girl was a cellist, and she wrote a piece for cello and voice. I went to the funeral home where the ceremony would be, and I asked for the instrument...

Folie a Deux

Hello Kids. Tonight’s bedtime story? Time for a morbid tale, I think. There sure are interesting people in this big wide world. I saw one of my regular interesting customers today. He’s back from the state hospital again. The issue is whether he can now stand trial. He’s been in the hospital for many years, and every few years he is returned to see if he is able to stand trial for the murder of his brother. Two brothers were institutionalized at two different mental hospitals. Their elderly mom died, and each brother was given a pass to go home for the funeral. What each hospital...

Dumb Bunnies

Hi kids. It’s been a while so I thought I’d check in with yet another demented bedtime story, taken straight from court and delivered to you. I can never resist an animal related fact pattern. This one’s for all the hunters and weapons enthusiasts in the room. George owns a ranch on a large rural property, and keeps a number of very expensive horses and cattle. He uses the critters as an excuse to take a humongous tax write off, declaring himself a breeder of both bovine and equine exotica. George became aware that jackrabbits had gotten out of control on his property when not one but...
